The Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FK UMS) is one of the faculties that people are most interested in. The Faculty of Medicine, which is under the auspices of the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, was founded during the leadership of Rector Professor Dochak Latif in 2004 based on the Decree of the Higher Education Number: 1260/D/T/2004.

Currently, the Faculty of Medicine of UMS organizes two study programs, namely bachelor of medicine and medical profession. The accreditation status for the Muhammadiyah University Surakarta Bachelor of Medicine study program is Excellent based on LAM-PTKes Decree No. 0427/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Sar/VI/2023. Whereas for the Muhammadiyah University Surakarta Medical Profession Study Program it is Excellent based on LAM-PTKes Decree No. 0428.LAM-PTKes/Akr/Pro/VI/2023.

In accordance with the determination of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta to always create a campus with “Scientific and Islamic Discourse”, the Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta will always present scientific and Islamic treasures in carrying out its activities. This is in accordance with the objectives of the Faculty of Medicine, which is to participate in the development of medical science and improve the health quality of the Indonesian people, especially in the Surakarta region, based on Islamic and Muhammadiyah values.
