The Faculty of Medicine, as a part of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, formulates its vision-mission, goals, and objectives based on the vision, mission, and statutes of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, as well as the guidelines of Muhammadiyah higher education institutions.

The vision, mission, goals, and objectives are crucial because they will determine the direction and purpose for the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine. Therefore, in the process of determining the vision, mission, goals, and objectives, the first stage conducted is a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) by a team formed by the Dean and actively involving various stakeholders (internal stakeholders: lecturers, students, staff, and external stakeholders: Hospital Directors, clinic owner doctors, and alumni). Based on the input obtained from these stakeholders, the vision and mission of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FK UMS) are then formulated in special meetings.

These meetings are attended by the Faculty Leadership and the Faculty Senate and are led directly by the Dean of FK UMS, resulting in a formulation of the vision, mission, goals, and achievement strategies. This formulation is then ratified by the Dean through a Dean’s Decree.
