The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FK UMS) is one of the faculties most in demand by the public. The Faculty of Medicine, under the auspices of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, was established during the leadership of Rector Professor Dochak Latif in 2004, based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education (Dikti) Number: 2160/D/T/2004.

Currently, the UMS Faculty of Medicine offers two study programs, namely the Bachelor of Medicine program and the Medical Profession program. The accreditation status for the Bachelor of Medicine study program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta is EXCELLENT (UNGGUL) based on the LAM-PTKes Decree No. 0427/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Sar/VI/2023. And for the Medical Profession Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, the status is also EXCELLENT (UNGGUL) based on the LAM-PTKes Decree No. 0428.LAM-PTKes/Akr/Pro/VI/2023.

In line with the commitment of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta to always realize a campus with a “Scientific and Islamic Discourse” (Wacana Keilmuan dan Keislaman), the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta will always present the richness of scientific and Islamic knowledge in carrying out its activities. This is consistent with the goal of the Faculty of Medicine, which is to participate in the development of medical science and the improvement of the health quality of the Indonesian community, especially in the Surakarta region, based on Islamic and Muhammadiyah values.
