Departments
To be an Islamic medical faculty which excels in family medicine, the Faculty of Medicine at UMS structures its organization into a number of well-established academic departments. These departments serve as the core pillars of integrated curriculum delivery, research, and community engagement, ensuring that every aspect of medical education, from basic sciences to clinical practice and family medicine, is delivered with competence and guided by Islamic values.
Biomedical Sciences
The Department of Biomedical Sciences focuses on the development of basic medical sciences through education, research, and scientific innovation. It ensures that students build a strong foundational understanding of the biological and physiological processes of the human body
Clinical Sciences
The Department of Clinical Sciences delivers comprehensive clinical education through collaboration with hospitals and healthcare facilities. It aims to prepare future physicians who are competent in diagnostic reasoning, clinical management, and evidence-based decision-making.
Public Health & Family Medicine
This department emphasizes promotive and preventive efforts, along with a holistic approach to individual and community health. Students are guided to apply the principles of family medicine and public health in promoting sustainable improvements in population health.
