Biomedical Laboratory Access Procedure
Laboratory Access Application
Before accessing the laboratory, please ensure that you understand the terms & conditions
Are you an undergraduate thesis student of the Faculty of Medicine, UMS?
Please visit the Faculty of Medicine UMS Thesis Office and complete all required administrative documents.
Not an undergraduate thesis student of the Faculty of Medicine, UMS?
Applicants may submit a request for access to the Biomedical Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta via the Faculty of Medicine UMS Laboratory WhatsApp Contact Center. The required documents include:

Registration Payment
Applicants whose laboratory access request has been approved will be instructed to proceed with the payment of the laboratory registration fee. The applicable fees are as follows:
- Academic Community of the Faculty of Medicine, UMS
Undergraduate: Rp. 150.000,-
Magister: Rp. 200.000,-
Doctoral: Rp. 250.000,- - Non-Academic Community of the Faculty of Medicine, UMS
Undergraduate: Rp. 250.000,-
Magister: Rp. 300.000,-
Doctoral: Rp. 350.000,-
The registration fee applies to research activities with a maximum laboratory usage period of three (3) months. Research exceeding this period will be subject to an additional charge of 20% per month.
Note: Payment of the registration fee must be made to the bank account listed in the registration invoice document. The invoice will be issued by the Laboratory Contact Center shortly after the research proposal has been approved by the Head of the Biomedical Laboratory.
Upon completion of payment, the Faculty of Medicine UMS Laboratory Contact Center will provide the contact number of the respective sub-laboratory head for use in the subsequent process.
Submission of Pre-Research Documents
After all registration administration has been completed, researchers may upload the required documents via the upload Pre-Reserch Documents link. The documents to be uploaded are as follows:
- Research proposal.
- Approval disposition or proof of laboratory access approval.
- Proof of registration fee payment.
Please send a screenshot of the successful upload to the contact number of the sub-laboratory head provided by the Faculty of Medicine UMS Laboratory Contact Center.
Next, coordinate with the sub-laboratory head to arrange a schedule for the laboratory orientation. The orientation will include:
- Explanation of the terms and conditions of the Faculty of Medicine UMS Laboratory
- Laboratory usage guidelines
- Introduction to and completion of the laboratory logbook
- Explanation of equipment operating instructions
- Explanation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations of the Biomedical Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine UMS
Research
During the research period, researchers may use the laboratory in accordance with the access request previously submitted. Researchers are expected to observe the following provisions:
- Researchers may use laboratory equipment with the assistance of laboratory staff. > View equipment price list.
- Researchers are entitled to request guidance on the use of equipment from laboratory staff at no additional cost.
- If the assistance extends into detailed technical aspects of the research, it will be categorized as technical assistance. > View technical assistance fees > View technical assistance fees.
- Researchers may independently procure consumable materials or request assistance from laboratory staff based on mutual agreement. All use of consumables must be reported to laboratory staff to prevent any undesirable issues.
- Researchers are required to complete the laboratory activity and equipment usage logbook for each research session. The logbook must be signed by laboratory staff and remains the responsibility of the researcher.
Research Payment
Upon completion of the research, researchers are required to report to the head of the respective sub-laboratory. After the report has been received, the Laboratory Contact Center will promptly issue a research invoice covering the use of equipment, consumable materials, and technical assistance services.
Submission of Post-Research Documents
Researchers who have completed their research are required to upload the required documents via the Post-Research Document Upload link. The documents to be uploaded include:
- Statement of Research Completion >Download template.
- Proof of payment of the research invoice
Please send a screenshot of the successful upload to the UMS Laboratory Contact Center.
Research Completion
After all procedures have been fully completed, researchers will receive a Research Completion Certificate signed by the Head of the Biomedical Laboratory. The certificate will be delivered by the Laboratory Contact Center.
UMS undergraduate thesis students?
Undergraduate thesis students are required to submit a hardbound copy of the final thesis to the laboratory staff or the head of the respective sub-laboratory.
