Surakarta – The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FK UMS) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and thanksgiving ceremony on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the UMS campus. The event was organized to express gratitude for two remarkable milestones recently achieved by the institution.

The first achievement was FK UMS obtaining international accreditation from the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (IAAHEH) with Fully Accredited status for eight years. This accomplishment makes FK UMS the first private medical faculty in Indonesia to receive this recognition. The second achievement was the outstanding 98.7% pass rate in t 2026 National Competency Examination for Medical Professional Students (UKNPDPD), with more than 50 candidates participating in the examination.

The ceremony was attended by all FK UMS junior doctors currently undertaking their clinical rotations at affiliated hospitals and community health centers (Puskesmas) within the Solo Raya home-based network. Also in attendance were heads of health offices from various hospitals and community health centers across the Solo Raya region, along with the leadership of FK UMS, including the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Flora Ramona Sigit Prakoesa, M.Kes., Sp.DVE, Dipl. STD-HIV/AIDS, FINSDV, FAADV.

In her remarks, the Dean of FK UMS expressed her gratitude and pride for these significant accomplishments. She stated that the IAAHEH international accreditation represents global recognition that will provide broader opportunities for FK UMS graduates to pursue further education and professional careers abroad. Meanwhile, the faculty’s high UKNPDPD pass rate reflects the consistently maintained quality of education and learning processes at FK UMS.

Furthermore, the FGD served as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration and foster closer relationships between FK UMS and its healthcare partners throughout the Solo Raya region. This synergy is expected to further enhance the quality of clinical education for junior doctors in the years ahead.
