The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FK UMS) has once again recorded a national research milestone. dr. Adam Fauzi Akbar, M.Biomed., a lecturer at FK UMS, has officially been selected as a recipient of the Program Riset dan Inovasi untuk Indonesia Maju (RIIM) Competitive Scheme Wave 10 grant, organized by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in collaboration with the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP).
The grant secured by dr. Adam falls under a multiyears research scheme, providing funding for three years in the health focus area. The RIIM program is one of Indonesia’s national competitive research funding schemes aimed at encouraging impactful innovations and research outputs that directly benefit society.
“I am grateful to have passed the RIIM Wave 10 selection. Three years of funding provides sufficient space to conduct in-depth research and produce outcomes that are truly beneficial to the health sector,” said dr. Adam on Tuesday (3/2/2026).
He added that the RIIM selection process is highly competitive and involves multiple evaluation stages. He hopes this achievement will motivate fellow lecturers and researchers at UMS to compete in national research funding schemes.
“Opportunities like this are widely open to anyone willing to try. I hope more FK UMS lecturers will submit proposals to competitive schemes such as RIIM, as funding support like this is crucial for advancing our research,” he added.
Dean of FK UMS, Dr. dr. Flora Ramona Sigit Prakoeswa, M.Kes, Sp.D.V.E., Dipl.STD-HIV/AIDS, FINSDV, FAADV, expressed her appreciation for dr. Adam’s accomplishment. She noted that this success reflects the growing research spirit within FK UMS.
