Enhancing Student Research Competencies: MARS FK UMS Hosts Workshop on Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods

Surakarta, December 21, 2025 — The Master of Hospital Administration (MARS) Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FK UMS), held a Workshop on Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods for MARS students on December 20, 2025, at the Abu Bakar Room, FK UMS. The event aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of designing and conducting scientific research as preparation for producing academic work and advancing the field of hospital management.

The workshop featured two expert speakers. Dr. dr. Burhannudin Ichsan, M.Med.Ed., M.Kes., MKM presented on qualitative research methods, while Rafi Amani Muflih Rahardi, S.M., M.M. covered quantitative research methods. Through this activity, students were expected to gain a solid understanding of the differences, strengths, and applications of both research approaches within the context of hospital administration studies.

Held at the Abu Bakar Room, FK UMS, the workshop was attended enthusiastically by MARS students. Interactive discussions between the speakers and participants served as a key component in deepening students’ understanding of research methods relevant to healthcare and hospital management.
