To commemorate National Children’s Day on June 25, 2026, the Ponorogo Regional General Hospital, in collaboration with the Ponorogo Regency Social Services Agency, organized a mass circumcision event as a demonstration of its commitment to the health of children and the community.
This event also involved clinical instructors and junior doctors from the Faculty of Medicine at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (FK UMS). Under the supervision of Dr. Mazidu, Sp.U, the young doctors from FK UMS played an active role in supporting the event, from preparation and assistance to providing care for the participants of the mass circumcision.
This participation is a tangible manifestation of FK UMS’s commitment to fulfilling the Four Pillars of Higher Education, particularly in the area of community service. In addition to providing direct benefits to the community, this activity also serves as a platform for clinical learning and for fostering empathy, professionalism, and social awareness among the young doctors.
Through this initiative, FK UMS hopes to continue contributing to improving public health and instilling humanitarian values in future doctors from the very start of their education.
