Prevention and Management of Tonsillitis as an Implementation of Baitul Insan Kamil Values in Upholding the Trust of Healthcare at PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta

On October 22, 2025, a health education session was held on the topic of “Prevention and Management of Tonsillitis as an Implementation of Baitul Insan Kamil Values in Upholding the Trust of Healthcare at PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta.” The event took place at Baitul Hikmah Hall, RS PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta, and was part of the Baitul Insan Kamil (BIK) Clinical Rotation Program carried out by Young Doctors from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FK UMS).

The session was led by Mawardah Al-Nimmah, S.Ked., under the supervision of dr. Yan Wirayudha, Sp.THT-KL (RS PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta) and dr. Tri Agustina, M.Gizi from the Faculty of Medicine, UMS.

The material covered the causes, symptoms, and steps for preventing and managing tonsillitis, delivered through an interactive approach that was accessible to participants. The session also emphasized the application of Baitul Insan Kamil values, particularly in upholding the trust of healthcare as part of the social and moral responsibility of healthcare professionals.

Through this activity, it is hoped that participants gained a better understanding of the importance of proper tonsillitis prevention and management, while also raising public awareness of maintaining personal and community health.
