October 20, 2025 — A health education session entitled “The Adventures of Red Blood Cell: Let’s Get to Know Our Bodies!” was held at BA Aisyiyah Keprabon, Polanharjo, Klaten. The event was part of the Baitul Insan Kamil (BIK) Clinical Rotation Program carried out by Young Doctors from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FK UMS).
The session was led by Sofiana Salsabila, S.Ked., under the supervision of dr. Sri Irianti, M.Sc., Sp.PK. (FK UMS/UMS Hospital) and dr. Rochmadina Suci Bestari, M.Sc. from the Faculty of Medicine, UMS.
Through educational games and interactive visual media, the activity aimed to introduce children to the functions of the human body, particularly the vital role of red blood cells in transporting oxygen throughout the body. The fun learning approach was designed to spark curiosity and build a foundational understanding among children about how their own bodies work.
This activity not only provided early health education but also served as a tangible form of community service by UMS medical students in support of health promotion and prevention programs, particularly within early childhood education settings.
